There are places you just can't get enough of. For me, Strijp-S Eindhoven is such a place. Hidden between the industrial buildings and street art are so many nice, unexpected places. Not the standard hotspots, but those places you accidentally bump into and that stay with you. As a local, I walk there every week. Sometimes with a coffee to go, sometimes with a friend by my side and often just for a walk. In this blog, I take you along my favourite addresses in Strijp-S. Discover great lunch spots, shops, bakeries and restaurants in Eindhoven.
1. Coffeehouse - De Jonghlaan 32, Eindhoven
On the edge of Strijp-S Eindhoven, hidden in a charming little white house, you will find the Koffiehuisje. This place feels like a well-kept secret, although locals know it's great to be here. When you step inside, it smells of freshly baked cake and coffee, with quiet music playing in the background. This is where I prefer to sit outside on one of the wooden benches with a cappuccino and a cinnamon roll. And yes, you can eat delicious food here too. Next time I go to the Koffiehuisje for lunch in Strijp-S, I will opt for the delicious pita with chicken thigh, feta and a fresh lime mayonnaise. Strijp-S really has so many nice restaurants and the Koffiehuisje should not be missing from this list of tips.

2. The Bakehouse - Frederiklaan 11, Eindhoven
For a coffee break I often walk in the direction of Het Bakhuisje. Another hidden gem in Strijp-S Eindhoven where I rarely leave empty-handed. Just the smell of freshly baked sourdough bread and biscuits is enough to lure me inside. This small, artisanal bakery in Eindhoven is easy to overlook, but trust me: it's definitely worth a stop. Everything here is handmade, organic and prepared with love. You can taste the difference. What I love about it? They often surprise you with original flavours. Think of a Chai cake with lime frosting, unexpected, but SO delicious.
So are you in Strijp S and looking for something tasty for home or a lunch to go? Het Bakhuisje is without a doubt my favourite bakery in Strijp-S and secretly in the whole of Eindhoven. My tip? Choose something you've never tasted before. Chances are it will become your new favourite.
3. Delicacy shop Onion & Garlic - Frederiklaan 75, Eindhoven
If I could give you a tip on the tastiest delicacy shop in Eindhoven, it would be Onion & Garlic. As soon as you walk into this shop, you don't know where to look. Everything is colourful, a little chaotic, but for that very reason incredibly charming. Onion & Garlic is located on Frederiklaan in Strijp-S and was opened by owner Renske. Everything she does oozes creativity and love for cooking. From the weekly menus to the labels. My personal favourite is the brownie with black garlic (yes, really!). There is a new menu every week, with veg options and gluten-free dishes, such as a feta spinach burger or yellow pepper soup. Bring your own bowl? Then you get a discount. It's my favourite shop in Eindhoven and a lovely stop during a day of shopping in Strijp-S.
4. Frankies Favourites - Torenallee 40-10, Eindhoven
As soon as you walk through Strijp-S Eindhoven, you immediately notice how many creative shops there are in Eindhoven. But what makes it extra nice is that you can find unique second-hand finds. So if you want to do some shopping after your lunch in Strijp-S, drop by my personal favourite: Frankies Favorites.
This shop is located in the middle of Strijp-S in Eindhoven and has a beautiful collection of second-hand pearls from top brands such as Isabel Marant, Iro and Anine Bing. Everything is conveniently sorted by colour and size, making for great browsing. The interior alone is worth a visit. From glittering disco balls to gold accents, this shop is as creative as the rest of Strijp-S. Whether you're looking for something unique or just want to browse around in one of the nicest shops in Eindhoven, Frankies Favorites is definitely recommended.
5. The Living Room of Strijp-S - Leidingstraat 12, Eindhoven
Among all the creative stimuli at Strijp-S, it is sometimes nice to take a breather. That's why I regularly drop in at De Huiskamer. A place in the middle of Strijp S where you sit down on a sofa as if you were at home with friends, but with surprisingly good food and a good dose of culture. Think live music or a wonderful spoken-word performance. During the day, enjoy a Surinamese lunch with a modern twist. For example, try the brioche with spicy mackerel. Everything is prepared with love, using local ingredients and attention to detail. A perfect place for a surprising lunch in Strijp-S.
In the evening, De Huiskamer transforms into a cosy meeting place with Surinamese snacks, tropical cocktails, art and music. It feels like a living room party in Strijp-S where everyone is welcome. Ideal if you want to eat out with friends in Eindhoven.
6. Piet Hein Eek - Halvemaanstraat 28, Eindhoven
After this, walk on to Piet Hein Eek. One of the most famous names in Strijp-S Eindhoven, this is not just Eindhoven's finest design shop: it is a creative playground, a museum, a workshop and a gallery all in one. Old materials are given a second life in the form of unique furniture and art objects, from scrap wood to industrial steel. If you love inspiring interior design shops in Eindhoven, you will effortlessly wander through worlds full of ideas here. Chances are you will go home with three new interior design plans and a handmade gadget that is just too good to pass up.

7. Piet Hein Eek Green Restaurant - Beeldbuisring 201,Eindhoven
Are you in Strijp-S and will you linger until dusk? Then Green Piet Hein Eek 's restaurant is the perfect restaurant in Eindhoven to end the day. Here you will enjoy refined dishes with seasonal produce, daily fresh fish and special wines. With high ceilings, large windows and a view of Piet Hein Eek's workshop, this restaurant has a raw but creative feel, typical of Strijp-S. Sometimes I eat here extensively with friends, other times we opt for a drinks board to share. In my opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in Eindhoven and highly recommended if you are looking for a cosy place for lunch or dinner in Strijp-S.
