In the afternoon, we drive from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen in the direction of Oostkapelle. A night's stay is planned at Lantliv in Oostkapelle. Oostkapelle is on Walcheren, for me then, on the other side. It takes a while to find exactly where we need to be, but after checking the address, we drive into the right yard. You see, Lantliv is located on a farm, a real dairy farm. Sarine, the owner, welcomes us with open arms and gives us a tour of the two tiny houses and the farm.

The tiny houses of Lantliv - Overlooking the meadows

There are two different tiny houses. The tiny house with a view over the beautiful Oostkapelle sleeps four people. The newest tiny house is suitable for two people. From your bed, you have a stunning view over the meadows. Unfortunately, the cows no longer graze outside, but the view is still magnificent. I can well imagine that it’s even more beautiful in summer.

We decide to stay in the tiny house for two people, which, despite its small size, is fully equipped with all modern conveniences. This cottage even has a small kitchen where you can get cooking to prepare some delicious meals.

Sunset on the beach - Relaxing in the salty air

Once we’ve settled in, we decide to drive to the beach for a bit to catch the sunset. The tiny house is less than 5 kilometres from Oostkapelle beach and is situated at a cycle junction. This makes it the perfect destination if you fancy a bike ride. There are several cycle routes listed in the cottage. We didn’t bring our bikes as we’re only staying for one night. If you’ve left yours behind but still want to cycle, you can hire bikes locally. At this destination, you can leave your car parked for the whole stay – ideal.

We’re taking a moment to enjoy the beautiful sunset on the beach. The salty air makes us incredibly happy.

A bite to eat in Domburg - A vegetarian Mexican meal

The kitchen is fully equipped, but we choose to have a bite to eat in the pretty village of Domburg. This is less than 5 kilometres from the tiny house. After a short walk through the main street, we have a bite to eat at El Fuego, where we enjoy a delicious vegetarian Mexican meal. After the meal, we drive back to the warm tiny house and play games until late in the evening.

Waking up on a farm - Morning colours and cow fog

After a wonderful night's sleep on the farm, we awoke in the morning to beautiful cow fog. This mist hangs low above the ground, causing the cows' legs to blend into the mist. How beautiful it is! I can't believe my eyes as soon as I open the curtains. What beautiful colours and that low-hanging fog complete the idyllic picture. We enjoy a cup of tea in bed for a while before getting ready to go on an adventure.

Westhove Castle in Oostkapelle - A 6-kilometre morning walk

A stone's throw away is Kasteel Westhove, which you should not miss when you come to Oostkapelle. So we take a lovely 6-kilometre morning walk here, through the forest and past the castle. We finish our walk on the beach at Oostkapelle, enjoying the fresh autumn wind. Luckily, we hit a bright day. In the forest, we encounter deer on several occasions, what wonderful animals they are.

A fine ending to a fine stay - Curl up in the greenhouse garden

After our walk, we return to the farm, stopping off to visit the stables on the way. Unfortunately for us, there’s no ice cream on sale at the farm at the moment, but during the summer months you can buy delicious ice creams from the roadside stall. However, there are some lovely produce from the farm itself available, and so we head home with a box of fresh eggs.

We say goodbye to our hostess Sarine and pop over to a really lovely spot in Oostkapelle, which is a must-visit if you’re coming here. Het Kaslokaal, a tea garden where you can enjoy a lovely drink and a bite to eat. In summer, you can sit in the tea garden, and in winter, by the stove in the greenhouse. There’s also a lovely little shop where you can buy local produce and lovely gifts from local businesses. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Besides the beach, the forest and Oostkapelle, there is so much to see here in the area. How about a visit to Vlissingen or Middelburg? Or a day trip to Neeltje Jans? Tiny House Lantliv is centrally located on Walcheren, making it an ideal base for a weekend or week away in Zeeland. Have you also been inspired to stay in one of Lantliv's tiny houses?
