Glasswort Holiday Home - Surrounded by the tranquillity of Zeeland
Zeekraal Vakantiewoning is the house of the grandparents of Anita and Lindsey, the two owners of this lovely place. The house has since been transformed into a holiday home, making it possible to stay at this special place in Zeeland. Zeekraal can accommodate up to six people, with a total of three bedrooms. This makes it possible to stay with the whole family or a cosy group of friends.
But as icing on the cake, this place boasts several nice extras. Recuperate after a busy week in your own sauna or enjoy the view of all the greenery in the beautiful back garden. This is the place to be on a beautiful summer evening. There are also games in the house, so you can enjoy the terrace outside in the evening. This house is therefore extremely suitable for families with children, but also great if you are travelling as a couple.
Actually, you don't need to leave your holiday home here to enjoy the peace and quiet of Zeeland. The house is fully equipped. But the surroundings are also too beautiful not to explore.
Burgundy Hulst - Culinary enjoyment
As mentioned, Zeekraal is located on the outskirts of the fortified town of Hulst. Here you can take a lovely walk along the ramparts or enjoy the lovely shops in the town centre. Or how about a bite to eat at one of Hulst's many restaurants? Hulst is close to the Belgian border and is therefore known for its Burgundian character. It is therefore the place to enjoy delicious food. Angelique lists a few gems for you:
- Highly recommended is Restaurant State, which has had a new look in Hulst since 2021. This restaurant strives daily for creativity, experience and a better world. Seasonal products are used. The emphasis here is mainly on vegetables from the gardens of local farmers, organic meat from the polder and fish from the North Sea.
- Or drop by Bargoed in Walsoorden, where you can enjoy a drink on the terrace while looking out over the Westerschelde estuary. The menu has made a place of honour for many vegetarian and vegan dishes.
- While we're eating, a visit to the Milk House in Terhole is a must. In my opinion, the best ice creams in the Hulst area. You can cycle here from Zeekraal. The Melkhuis also has a terrace and a playground, so great to hang out while enjoying a delicious ice cream. And while you're here, pick up delicious fresh yoghurt from the farmer or tap a bottle of milk from the milk tap so you can enjoy fresh delicacies for breakfast back at Zeekraal Vakantiewoning.

The house is beautifully located on the outskirts of Hulst, surrounded by greenery. At a distance from the house, you will find more beautiful places, such as the Land of Saefthinge and the Clinge woods, both of which are great for hiking. Or enjoy the polder landscape around the house. The area is perfect for a lovely bike ride. This is how we ended up at the Vlaamse Kreek just after sunrise. What a beautiful spot it is! Enjoy the water while the rest of the world is still waking up.
But from Zeekraal Vakantiewoning it is also easy to cross the Belgian border to the Stropersbos or the watchtower Niemandsland which gives you a beautiful view over Belgium and the Netherlands. The Niemands walking route is a wonderful route through this beautiful area.
In short, the area around Zeekraal Vakantiewoning is an area with a lot to offer. But actually, you don't have to leave Zeekraal to have a great time. I can't say it often enough, but at this holiday home you can really enjoy the beautiful view and the peace and quiet of the polder in Zeeland.
