With a plethora of unique restaurants in the heart of Haarlem, it can be hard to choose. But why should you? Discover Haarlem in a tasty way with this walking dinner route, where you taste something at each restaurant and experience the city in a culinary way. The route is 1.8 kilometres long and takes about 22 minutes without stops. Have fun on this gastronomic discovery tour!

1. SLA - Kruisweg 68B

We start our day healthy at organic salad bar SLA. This family-run business is committed to both your health and that of the planet, using only plant-based and organic ingredients. The salads and bowls are unique and delicious. Tip: try the 'Killer Hair Salon' or the 'Oh! Gado Gado'. More in the mood for something smaller? Then opt for a 'Choco Bliss Ball' or a 'Tahini Brownie'. SLA's sweets are also truly divine!

2. Mister French - Klein Heiligland 8

From SLA, it is about a 14-minute walk to Meneer Frans. This restaurant is named after Mr Frans van Duivenboden, the former owner of the interior design shop of the same name on Gedempte Oude Gracht. This restaurant serves Haarlem's tastiest flammkuchen straight from Alsace and other organic delicacies. Enjoy this hidden gem indoors or, weather permitting, in the green courtyard garden.

3. DeDAKKAS - De Witstraat 1A

Pedometer back on and off you go! Fortunately not that long, because within four minutes you are already at the next destination: DeDAKKAS. This is a popular spot among mosquitoes (nickname for a Haarlemmer). That's because this restaurant, shaped like a greenhouse, has a very special location in Haarlem: on top of parking garage de Kamp. From here, you have a fantastic view over the city centre. To the left, you can see the dunes, to the right the Koepelgevangenis and right in front of you the Grote Sint Bavokerk. The ideal place for a drink with the sun on your head!

4. Restaurant World Cuisine - Lange Herenvest 122

On to the last restaurant of this route! The last stage takes you to Restaurant World Kitchen in 7 minutes. Here, dishes from Syria, Somalia, Palestine, Iran, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Uyghur cuisine welcome you. The weekly changing menu pays homage to the chefs' nationalities. It feels like coming home for locals and new guests alike.
