If you ever want to sleep with Rotterdam's skyline as a backdrop, Nhow is the place. Located on Wilhelminapier, or 'Manhattan on the Maas', you will find this impressive design hotel in the De Rotterdam building. Art, architecture and urban vibes come together here, and all with a view you can't help but love. But what is it really like to spend a night here? I take you on!

A room with a wow factor - Sleeping with a view to remember

On entering our Nhow premium room with skyline view over Rotterdam, we are immediately silent. And that doesn't happen often. For a moment it feels like we are two little children marvelling at what we see. This view is not normal: the Erasmus Bridge is right in front of us. The floor-to-ceiling windows almost make it seem as if we are floating next to it.

We see a Holland America Line cruise ship moored next to the hotel, the water taxis shooting across the water like little yellow bees and the lights of the city slowly turning on. Rotterdam is alive, and we watch.

For a few minutes, we just stare breathlessly outside. Then the sky suddenly turns pink. You understand: sleeping with the curtains closed is not an option here. You want to see this view all day.

An evening in the urban jungle at Gastrobar Elvy - Exotic atmospheres and street food

After gazing at the skyline and testing whether the bed is really that comfortable (spoiler: it's really comfortable), it's time for dinner. On the seventh floor is Gastrobar Elvy, a place where you immediately step into another world. Exotic colours, plants and modern art are everywhere - a true urban jungle.

Elvy's concept revolves around street food from all over the world. The menu features burrito bowls, pumpkin cheese fondue and vegetarian dishes such as yellow curry and falafel bowl. Tasty to share (but I also understand if you don't 😉 ). And of course a colourful cocktail to go with it, because yes, life should be celebrated.

And celebrating life will also be a good thing here this evening, as there will be a DJ to get us into the party mood. By the way, there are regular events here, such as sip-and-paint or sculpture and sip events. When the weather's nice, you can of course sit on the rooftop terrace!

Breakfast with lots of choice - The best way to start your day

After a night in a bright and spacious room - with a lovely queen-size bed and a walk-in shower that feels like a mini-spa - it's time for breakfast.

And wow, what a choice. Fresh sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt, eggs, hot dishes... it is almost impossible not to eat too much. But oh well, we have the whole day to wander around. With such a start, that can only be good.

Everything you need within reach - Facilities and accessibility

What's also nice: Nhow has everything you need during a stay in Rotterdam. A gym, a sauna overlooking the river Maas and a 24/7 self-service shop in the lobby, where you can score everything from snacks to chargers. Handy!

Perhaps the nicest thing: you can bring your dog or cat. So even your faithful four-legged friend can enjoy a night of skyline views.

In terms of accessibility, this is also the place to be. You can park in the Q-park next to the hotel, and by public transport you are right outside the door. But the coolest way to get around? The water taxi, of course! Super-fast and it comes with a mini boat trip.

In short: Nhow in Rotterdam is an experience in itself. From the views to the food and the atmosphere - everything is just right. So, should you want to treat yourself properly for once... you know where to go.

Love,
Krisja
