Sleeping in a tree house at Warredal in Belgium

First we make a stop at Blueberry Fields in Beringen. A green (or should I say blue) estate of no less than 12 hectares of blueberries full of picking gardens, hiking trails, a shop and a food truck with a nice terrace. Here you can taste the gifts of nature that Blueberry Field is very proud of, such as homemade jams and juices.

After we have explored the site and shot some nice pictures, we enjoy a delicious lunch.

After a forty-five-minute drive, we approach Warredal, just across the border in Belgium. Hidden among the trees, a large site emerges. As we park the car, we can already see a number of cottages at different heights in the distance. All unique and different from each other. From dreamy Hobbit cottages and cosy cabins to impressive tree houses. It feels like we have entered a fairy tale.

Warredal once started with the equestrian centre, one of the largest riding schools in Belgium. Riders from all over the world still come here to take part in competitions or to stay in nature. Slowly it expanded into a recreational domain of no less than 24 hectares full of activities and special overnight places in nature.

We are taken to our accommodation by golf cart. Indeed, to ensure the peaceful forest environment, the site is car-free. When we arrive at Tree House 3, we feast our eyes. What an impressive tree house! The playful wooden construction blends perfectly with nature. We enter the hut through a long staircase and end up on the covered terrace. Adjacent to the terrace is a wood-fired private sauna. Even though it is super warm outside, all three of us cannot wait to spend time in it.

Inside the treehouse, we are once again overwhelmed. The downstairs area is filled with a kitchen, a large wood-burning stove, a compact bathroom, two bedsteads and nice seating areas. The stairs take us to the top floor where we find three more sleeping areas. The large windows give us a fantastic view of the field behind the treehouse.

After we have dropped all our stuff in the treehouse, we walk to the cosy beach. Time to cool off in the water. The cosy beach consists of a landscaped beach with nice chairs, beds and hammocks. Adjacent to the beach is a bar where you can order drinks and pizza. This place is really lovely for hot summer days and also for children to play.

In the forests of Warredal, we find complete relaxation. The cottages here are designed to take you back to basics, but with optimal comfort. This means no wifi, but every opportunity to recharge and re-energise. A digital detox and really connect with each other, nature and yourself for a while. As it slowly cools down outside and the sun gives way to the moon, we decide to go into the sauna for a while. Pure enjoyment!

When we wake up the next morning, the birds are already singing at the top of their voices. The crackling leaves on the trees and the smell of the forest do us good. We would like to wake up like this every day.

Although we are enjoying the digital detox, there is a bit of work to be done today. But at this location, working feels like a party, so we don't mind too much. After the working day, it was time to create cool content. We had brought a drone for the first time, so this was the perfect opportunity to practice with it.
