As the car takes us along increasingly rural roads, our enthusiasm starts to grow by the minute. For the next two nights, we will be sleeping in one of Treelodge's treehouses and we have been looking forward to this for a long time. As the navigation tells me to turn left, small signs that say 'Treelodge' pop up in plain sight. We drive up the dirt track and in the background, Tree Lodge Treelodge Tjiftjaf appears between the trees. And what a gem it is! Here we are definitely going to enjoy a nice stay.
Enjoy offline - Unique stays in the heart of nature
Bram and Karen offer three different cabins and tree houses. Each accommodation is different and this is because Bram and Karen build the cottages all by themselves. They are currently working on the fourth cabin and we are extremely curious to see what it will look like. Bram told us during our stay that there is no time pressure on the construction of the fourth tree house and he can therefore give free rein to his creativity.
At Treelodge you can make it as 'basic' or 'luxurious' as you like. Cook outside by one of the fire pits or prepare tasty dishes in the extensively equipped kitchen in the treehouse. Dive under the outdoor shower or unwind in the bathtub overlooking the forest. You do all this completely offline as there is no wifi and little internet connection. In short, leave those computers and smartphones at home!
A cosy stay - Crackling fires and dancing candles
Spending the night in a tree house might make you think of summer. But Treelodge's tree houses are actually very nice on real winter days. The cottages have central heating but of course it is even nicer to light the woodstove. As I sit staring at the crackling fire with a warm cup of tea, a steaming mushroom dust is simmering. The wooden treehouse is perfectly incorporated into the wooded surroundings and makes us feel like we are on the film set of a Harry Potter movie. Amanda hums as she walks around me and lights the candles.

Warming luxury - SAUNA AND HOT TUB
Tree house Tjiftjaf really gives you the feeling of being in the middle of nature, but with a good dose of comfort and luxury. The tree house consists of two floors. On the lower floor a living room with extensive kitchen, sitting area and wood-burning stove and a bathroom with toilet and shower. On the top floor a bedroom and room with a freestanding bath from which you enjoy a view of the forest.
But outside are a few extra surprises that will make your stay even nicer. Light the fire and heat the hot tub for a relaxing moment during your stay. This one is handmade by Wellnez Atelier. The perfect match herewith Treelodge. Really super nice on colder days because you can then cool off on the edge of the hot tub in between. There is also a small building with sauna in the treehouse's 'back garden'. Are you ready for some heating? Then indulge yourself at this luxury treehouse.
In the woods - Wake up
The birds whistle happily to us from the trees and I walk down the stairs at dusk. It is time for our new morning ritual; a cup of tea in front of the crackling fire. As we stare out, we slowly see the silhouettes of the trees becoming more and more visible in the surrounding forest. Treehouse Tjiftjaf is made entirely of wood and feels warm and atmospheric. After waking up refreshed, creative ideas for some final content bubble up. In this place, you certainly don't have to get bored as a photographer or content creator.
After a few wonderful days in Treelodge's cosy treehouse, it really is time to go home. I slowly walk down the stairs with my bag and take in the scenery one more time. This is not a goodbye but a goodbye! Curious about the other locations we are going to, keep an eye on our Instagram!
