A campsite where you build campfires, cook in the outdoor kitchen, warm up in a hot tub and sleep in a yurt. At Camping 't Buitenland in Alphen in Brabant, it is all possible. This magical place is all about enjoying the moment. Back to basics with some well-earned luxury. The perfect place to retreat to.
Offline enjoyment - Back in time
During your stay, you take a small step back in time to a world without internet and electricity. Don't worry, you can charge your phone of course, but otherwise you'll mainly rely on wood. There is also only one kind of Wifi on the campsite, the sister of Mrs Moustache. Two cosy cats who are only too happy to keep you company.
A day at Campsite 't Buitenland - Waking up in a yurt
It is half past seven in the morning, in the middle of November, when I wake up to the light. Brrr, how chilly it is in the yurt. Time to fire up the wood stove. While I get to work on the wood, Jeroen goes to the outdoor kitchen to make a nice cup of tea and coffee. Cody, our Australian Shepperd hops happily behind him. When I hear them coming back I already have the fire going pretty well. Time to crawl back into bed under the warm blankets while it warms up inside.
Today there is not much on the agenda. All options are still open. Isn't it delicious? Let's start with breakfast! While I cuddle with Mrs Moustache, Wifi and Cody, Jeroen prepares breakfast. Life here is simple. By now it's 10 o'clock and I haven't looked at my phone once. In fact, when was the last time I didn't look at my phone for so long? Far too long ago I realise now.
Warming up in nature - A campsite with hot tub
After breakfast, we fire up the fire in the hot tub before heading out. We go for a nice walk in a forest near the campsite. Enjoy Cody, nature and being outside. When we come back, it's time for a game and lunch.
After a game of 'Who is it?' and Rummikub, a delicious meal and frolicking with Cody, the hot tub finally seems to be the right temperature. Time for some well-earned relaxation. What a luxury, such a campsite with a hot tub. All afternoon we enjoy the warmth in the tub before preparing the next meal. We feel rosy and fulfilled.
After dinner, we jump into the hot tub again, just because we can. Then, with glowing cheeks, we have a last drink by the fire before retiring to the yurt. A few more pages in the book I brought with me and then the day is done. I fall asleep like a log. What a nice day it was!
Sleeping in a yurt - Special accommodations
Camping 't Buitenland is a small campsite with 10 special accommodations where you can spend a lovely time during any season of the year. We slept in a yurt this weekend, but there is also a Finnish Kota, Pipowagen and Tipi. Each accommodation is unique in its own way, but all decorated with warmth and love.
The campsite is suitable for both young and old: you can stay here as a couple or with your whole family. There is room for up to 45 people at 't Buitenland and you can even rent the entire site if you wish.
I hope you will allow yourself an adventure at 't Buitenland, an authentic and special campsite full of atmosphere and cosiness, back in time. In the end, you don't need much to be happy. A stay at this magical place makes that all too clear. Have fun!
