Delft is a beautiful city you must have visited at least once in your life. It is full of history and culture, but also definitely full of nice eateries, shops and places to stay. In this blog, I take you on a city walk along hidden gems in Delft.

Breakfast - Feast on a delicious

You can make the most progress if you make sure your body is well-fuelled. That's why we start the day at KEK. Yoghurt with granola and fresh fruit, a 'Peachy Paradise' smoothie bowl or a delicious slice of KEK's carrot cake. Everything on the menu is organic, homemade and finger-licking good.

Besides the tastiest breakfasts, you can also shop the nicest handmade gifts at KEK. From weck pots to biodegradable postcards. You will probably leave here not only with a well-filled stomach, but also with a nice souvenir from this city walk in Delft.

Nature - On a voyage of discovery in the

Agnetapark is a hidden gem and is a nice contrast to the busy streets of the city centre. This park was built in the nineteenth century as a garden village for the workers of the J.C. van Marken family's factory. The park is still a popular place for a walk, picnic or to just enjoy the peace and quiet.

Explore Agnetapark yourself or book a tour with guide and writer Jan van der Mast. This two-hour tour introduces you to the unique story of the 'Social Workers' Paradise' in the middle of Delft.

Culture - Admire Delft

Museum Paul Tetar van Delft is the perfect place to visit for art and history. The museum is housed in a beautiful 19th-century building, which was once the home of artist Paul Tetar van Elven. This makes a visit to the museum feel like stepping back in time, with beautiful old paintings and furniture taking you back to the city's rich cultural history.

During your visit, you get an interesting insight into the life of Paul Tetar van Elven, who was not only an artist, but also a collector of rare objects from antiquity. Truly a must-see during a city walk in Delft.

Lunch - Enjoy a well-earned

After a few hours sniffing nature and culture, it is time for a well-deserved lunch at Wildgroei. A lunchroom whose mission is to let as many people as possible taste and experience conscious and honest food. Look out over the blooming street overlooking the Old Church and feast on organic, local and seasonal ingredients.

This family business is a feast for your soul. Not only because of the healthy and delicious dishes, but also because you can buy the most beautiful books and take meditation sessions here. Unfortunately, they are going to stop with Wild Growth, but the end date is still unknown. So while you still can, be sure to stop by and enjoy yourself at this fine lunchroom.

Shopping - Score the best souvenirs at the

The city walk in Delft also includes a visit to some great shops. Pleck is one of them. Here you can shop the best fashion items, jewellery and interior decoration. You will find this shop on the beautiful Voldersgracht and on the Jacob Gerritstraat. In fact, they have not one, but two great shops.

Another shop you should definitely visit is VOORLOPIG on the Voorstraat. This is a place that stimulates your senses and supports budding entrepreneurs. At VOORLOPIG, they sell handmade goodies that only last temporarily. Therefore, you will be surprised and inspired during every visit.

Break - Unwind with a

Feel like catching your breath over a nice cup of coffee after shopping? Then be sure to visit Koffie & Zo. This coffee shop in the centre of Delft uses beans from Central and South America and countries like Rwanda and Ethiopia. Not sure which one to taste? The barista will be happy to help!

Prefer a healthy juice? Then Angie's Juicebar is the perfect place! All smoothies and juices full of vitamins are made fresh for you every day. Will you go for the 'Mean Green', 'Mango Madness' or a ginger shot? Whichever you choose, you'll give your body a real power boost!

Overnight - Let all impressions sink in during a

Hotel de Plataan is a charming hotel in the heart of the city. It is housed in a monumental building dating back to the 17th century. Upon entering, you immediately notice the combination between modernity and historical character. But that is not the only thing you will notice. This is because Hotel de Plataan also stands for sustainability. One of the ways they promote sustainability is by using solar energy. They like to transfer their knowledge to their guests and encourage them to travel and live more sustainably as well.

Plop down on your bed or find a spot in the beautiful garden. It is the ideal place to retreat to, while leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind.

Dinner - Conclude the walk with a delicious

The last hidden pearl of the city walk I want to share with you is Grand Café HANNO. A cosy hotspot where you taste food from all over the world, discover treasures that owners Hugo and Kim collected during their travels and experience boundless hospitality. Groots Café HANNO is the place for explorers and homecomers.

Conclude the city walk in Delft with a pure and surprising dinner. Every dish and drink on the menu has its own story. Just like the souvenirs and furniture pieces in the restaurant. At Groots Café HANNO, it feels like you are in a whole other world, yet close to home.

Hope you enjoyed the city walk in Delft. If you come across another nice Honeyguide spot along the way, don't forget to share it with us by using #heyhoneyguide and @honeyguide.nl/en on Instagram.
