Why you really want to visit this place

As part of the New Dutch Waterline, the fort has a very rich past that can still be seen and felt. A visit to the fort is therefore interesting anyway. And the German&Lauret Fort Brewery at least equally so thanks to its special setting and special way of brewing. Rainwater is filtered through the roof of the contrescarp (the gallery around the tower) and then drips via kettles into a water basin underground over a period of three months. In the past, this water was used as drinking water for the men. Now it serves as a source for the sustainable brewing of our dark "German & Lauret" beer. The historical setting and sustainable way of brewing only makes the beer taste better!

This is how they (and you) make a difference

  • An old fort has been given a new lease of life
  • Honouring the story of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie
  • beer is brewed in a sustainable way in the brewery
