Why you want to visit this cathedral
One of the world's most important churches is located in the capital of North Holland. That in itself is worth a visit. The cathedral was designed by Joseph Cuypers and was built between 1850 and 1950. Fun fact: with the recent construction of a disabled toilet, the Cathedral is the largest in the Netherlands. You can visit the church on your own when it is open or join a tour from one of the enthusiastic guides. They will tell you evocatively and full of anecdotes about the architectural styles, visitors, works of art and faith. Take a look at the website for tickets and tour dates, as they only go a few times monthly.
This is how they (and you) make a difference
The church has a rich history & beautiful architecture that we want to pass on to future generations. Remember you are visiting a house of worship. Show respect and be quiet so that other people can pray in peace.
