Why you really want to visit this place
The Land of Once was once an amusement park for children but nowadays it is freely accessible for a walk. The municipality of Heusden bought the land after the bankruptcy in 2007 and now takes care of the nature reserve and Kasteel d'Oultremont (the pink castle of the Land of Once). In the following years, the municipality renamed the nature reserve: The Gateway of Heusden. As it were, you walk among the remains of the amusement park with a nice reference to the past.
