About this hidden gem

A place with history and a place to remember.

Why you really want to visit this place

Remembrance Centre Camp Westerbork is a place with history. In the middle of Drenthe, the lives of hundreds of thousands of Dutch Jews, Sinti and Roma are remembered. What once began as a refugee camp later became a transit camp. The departure point of 93 trains to other camps such as Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen and Sobibor. Visit the museum, too. Learn more about the history of this camp and pause in memory of the events.
