About this hidden gem
Located between 's-Hertogenbosch and Nijmegen, you will find Oss. A special, historical place when it comes to royal tombs. The archaeological monuments take you back in time.
Why you really want to visit this place
You may have heard of it: the royal tomb of Oss. This is the largest and richest royal tomb in the Netherlands. In the early Iron Age, around the seventh century BC, a monarch died there. At least, that is what the rich grave goods, discovered and researched in 1933 and 1997, show. For instance, they found there gold decorated weapons, wood and pieces of a horse harness. Below the royal tomb, researchers found an even much older burial mound. Today, the tomb of the princes of Oss is a historical site where you can learn a lot about the royal tombs.
