About this hidden gem

A beautiful garden in the Beemster, where beekeeper Marienne Eekhof has no fewer than 15 bee colonies.

Why you really want to visit this place

The garden is surrounded by flowers of all colours, fruit trees with many fruits and the light buzzing of bees. Marianne became enthusiastic about bees years ago at the bee market in Middenbeemster. After many courses, she was able to call herself a real beekeeper and started Beemster Honingzoet in Southeast Beemster. Here, Marianne sells the tastiest honey from her own people two times a year in her stall by her front door. From mid-June, her stall is filled with spring honey and from mid-August you can find summer honey here. Beekeeper Marianne processes her beeswax into many different products, such as lip balm, salves, washcloths (to store food), soap, hair wax and beard balm. You can also buy these products from Marianne in her stall.
